Week later, same story. Large crowd and active market! Top cows 2625, 2325, 2300, 2250 Ivan Fox Jr, Stanley. 2350 Ralph Petersheim, Viroqua. Many good cows 1400- 1950. Top organic cows 15 head 2000- 2700, Ken Yoder Jr, Spencer.

Better springing Holstein heifers 1400- 1650. Individual 2200. Plain and smaller bred heifers 700- 1050. Open heifers 80- 95 cwt NT. Single birth Holstein heifer calves 10- 35 per head.

Holstein breeding bulls 1000- 1550. Market bulls 75- 87.50.

As usual we had a very good fat cattle market. Choice Holstein steers 119- 125.50. Beef cross 126.50- 128. Holstein feeder steers 85- 115NT. Beef cross up to 1.30. 50% of Holstein bull calves sold 85-145. Beef cross bull and heifer calves 150- 260.

Cull cows sold sharply higher!! 33% sold 61-71. 50% of Holstein sold 53- 60 with only 3 cows under 49! Organic market cows mostly 90- 96.

Hay, straw, and firewood sold steady. Supreme quality 3x4x8 Alfalfa 225/ bale. Dairy quality 3x3x8 Alfalfa 85-95. Alfalfa baleage 60- 77.50. Grass mix rounds and squares 45- 65. Few poor quality 20- 27.50. Small squares 2- 4.00. 3x3x8 straw 27.50- 55. 3x4x8 wheat straw 75- 77.50. Spreader load firewood 80.
